Technology Use on the College campus - Online Colleges

Technology Use on the College campus - Online Colleges

An enlightening infographic based on data from EDUCAUSE, Pew Internet and American Life Project, and Computerworld. This infographic illustrates the disconnect between university students and their professors/instructors when it comes to technology use in the classroom. From my observations, Kansas college students are not as tech-savvy as those from more urban settings. With that said, most faculty at my university are still far behind when it comes to personal technology use (and most-definitely classroom technology use). A few years ago, a colleague from our school of business asked during a technology advisory committee, "Can we buy devices for our campus classrooms that will block cell phone signals?" My response was, "I have a better (and less expensive solution). Simply ask one of our local school district teachers to provide you with some classroom management training." We don't have much to do with each other, any more.
